Nervous : Pas de doute, du nerf, il y en a sur ce 45 tours. Ne pas perdre de temps, tout jouer à l’arraché et surtout ne laisser personne survivre. Kid : Ne pas oublier les plaisirs juvéniles de ces premières écoutes de Motörhead, rester accrocheur et faire de la musique pour s'éclater, pas pour ruminer dans son coin. Premier disque de ce duo guitare/batterie italien, ce 45 tours est totalement jouissif. Comme on su l’être Pink And Brown ou Oxes à leur époque en offrant une noise vaguement math-rock totalement fun qui carbure sans étouffer, qui est ingénieuse sans être pédante, Nervous Kid vous charcute la tête en cinq titres et sans savoir comment vous vous retrouvez debout sur le canapé, une bière à la main, à gueuler de bonheur comme un putois.

Le disque parfait à mettre en teuf ou pour se foutre la patate au réveil. Encore une superbe sortie du côté de chez Gaffer records.

Nervous Kid are one of the best bands we've had the pleasure to play with in Europe, and one of the loudest. They are a two-piece from Bologna playing guitar and drum based math dancey noise. You might think you have them all worked out Lightning Bolt, Hella, Pink and Brown style but these pair are much better looking than any of those bands and have a sound more akin to being next to Motorhead's private jet as it takes off.

Nervous kid are a Bologna based drum/guitar duo with a resonance that recalls groups like Lightning Bolt and the Ruins without being very specific. The sound is loud, wound tight and instrumentally pared down. There are even parts that remaind me of the original Gone (albeit with a non-Ginn guitarist). Cool one.

I due Nervous Kid somigliano ai Lightning Bolt ma con un piglio più metallaro. Sbrodolano violenza sonica a livelli tali che alla fine le orecchie sanguinano dolore misto ad esaltazione. Più free rock che math, come invece sostiene qualcuno. I titolari del progetto, infatti, in linea di massima se ne infischiano dei tempi dispari. O comunque non ne sembrano ossessionati. Al calcolo preferiscono piuttosto l'impatto, maneggiando il mezzo con la sfrontatezza di chi sa quello che fa. E il risultato dà loro ragione. I riff acrobatici di "Hair Strike II" collimano perfettamente con le ritmiche tentacolari della batteria. "Nervous Kid Isn't Like Nervous", poi, è una delle robe più assordanti che si siano ascoltate negli ultimi tempi. I Nervous Kid sanno di essere – appunto – nevrotici e schizofrenetici. Tengono botta per poco, pochissimo. Arrivano, distruggono e se ne vanno.

Mattia Lullini alla chitarra e Giovanni Frezza alla batteria vengono da Bologna, seguaci della chiassosa e funambolica linea di two-man band quali Hella e Lightning Bolt. Tra le loro caratteristiche c’è quella di liofilizzare il tutto in brani veloci, senza tempi morti, irrompendo spasmodicamente con progressioni in vena SST (Kid Kid Kid, Wood Is Good), sparando brevi tapping (Hair Strike II) e lanciando granate noise (Nervous Kid Isn’t Like Nervous Kid) con un semento di follia (Take “Fucking” That). D’altro canto i due hanno la capacità di risolvere i loro rompicapi sonori con una scioltezza che fa subito presa sulle articolazioni atrofizzate dell’ascoltatore comodamente seduto. I Nervous Kid in sostanza si mostrano attitudinalmente molto più “hardcore” che “postrock”: facilmente li si immagina come animali da palcoscenico, intenti a martoriare strumenti e a interpretare liberamente pentagrammi angolari e scoscesi.
